Planning a Baby Shower

It was quite difficult planning this baby shower because I’ve never been to a baby shower and don’t really know how it all works. But thank goodness for good friends and the internet that helped me out. I’m half done with the invitations and booked the venue. Don’t get me wrong – I love the planning part – I was just confused about some stuff. This will be another huge party for next year to celebrate our little boys’ arrival. If I get to choose – I wouldn’t chose to have it in the winter. I’m totally not a winter person!

Going to be handing out invitation cards this upcoming months! Yes – two months early and that’s the way I roll. After these invitation cards – I gotta work on the one month celebration invitations. I wanna get as much stuff done as possible in these couple months I have left that I’m free. When the baby comes out – I doubt I’ll get much sleep. It’s always nice to get things done ahead for me – so I have less worries.

For all the events I plan – hubs never really helped but all he does is pay for the bills. Hahaha – I actually like it that way that I’m in control of everything and I know what’s going on. All I need to do is tell him the date and what bills to pay. Isn’t his job easy or what?

Halloween 2011 Celebration

<

I decided to set up a mini event to celebrate Halloween. Halloween isn’t a big thing to me but I thought it would be fun just to invite some close friends over and have a dress up and hotpot party. I actually love planning events like this – gets me busy right? Since I’m free most of the time – I have some stuff to think about and plan.

Everyone all dressed up and had a blast that night. We ended the night with a scary Korean movie. I was dead tired by the end of the day – good thing I didn’t have to clean up the mess because I prepped everything! I should start planning Halloween parties every year and especially having a kid in the family – makes it more fun for him. How did you all celebrated Halloween?

Our first gift for our baby

We don’t know the gender of our kid yet but that doesn’t stop us from shopping right? Since Toys’ R Us is having a 30% sale on the bedding and room decorations this week – I’ve decided to pick this up for the baby’s crib. I haven’t yet gotten the crib yet but I’ll be getting the bedding first. It’s a great gift for your son or daughter because the Winnie The Pooh theme can be multisex. So I don’t really need to worry about if its a girl or a boy right? I can’t wait to get the baby room all set up and ready to go before winter arrives. We are quite excited to know about the gender too – get to plan things in advance!

Reality Check

A friend’s facebook posted: “What would you do with 1 million dollars?”

My reply: Invest!

When you think about it nowadays – one million dollar isn’t much because houses nowadays cost a million unless you move up north. The area I’m living in cost over a million and it’s just crazy. Comparing to years ago – this house I’m currently living in is half the price. The house market is going a bit crazy and it scares me. Scares me to think of what the future holds for our family with surviving on one income. It’s not that I don’t want to think about it – but it’s on my mind. Giving our child the best things and education in life is a must. I guess the best thing to do right now is save as much as we can now and worry about the rest later.

What do you do when you have high expectations and you can’t lower your expectations? Work harder. Sometimes I question if the road I’m walking is right – but I gotta believe in it. It works for others and it’ll eventually work for me. As my mentor said “Rome wasn’t built in a day” – everything takes time to built up. I just feel like I’ve been thinking a lot and rushing through things lately. Gotta slow down and take it step by step.

Believe in God.

Extreme Couponing on TLC

After watching Extreme Couponing on TLC – I started to be curious and wonder why these people from the States get so many coupons distributed to their homes. They don’t just save a few bucks but they save a few hundred dollars. Crazy huh?

As curious as I am – I searched up some coupons on the net for myself but it’s mainly baby stuff because I don’t need to do any grocery shopping yet and I could hardly find any coupons. The coupon I found required me to download a coupon program so the barcode scanners would scan. Looks like I won’t be saving hundreds of dollars. It requires a lot of time and patience to look at deals and price match too. Are you a couponer in Canada? Show me the tips and tricks will you?

Fights and arguements with your other half?

My previous relationships is really different – fights and arguments seems to happen often because two views are different and those relationship never worked. But again – these past relationship made me learn and realized what I really want and deserve in a perfect relationship.

I’ve been with my other half for almost three years. These three years – we’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs but there were never any huge arguments or fights. At times – our relationship seems to be quite boring because we lack arguments but when I think about it – I actually cherish these peaceful moments. In these three years – we’ve accomplished a lot together. I knew he was the one after being with him the first month. Relationship is all about respecting one another and understanding. I feel very comfortable being with him and most importantly – his family. Being accepted into his family and being loved by them is important for our relationship. I gotta say – our relationship is one healthy one and it’ll always be this way.

The Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church

Two days before the wedding – we had our rehearsal at the church. That hit me a bit because I wasn’t as organized with the program as I would like it to be. I started freaking out when things were missing and I am  new to the Catholic religion and don’t really know the steps of the ceremony. But after the rehearsal – everything was so much clearer to me. Phew~

I wasn’t expecting a large amount of people showing up to church that day because not everyone was Catholic. So I had quite a calm morning till I peak into the window and saw the HUGE amount of people that I didn’t expect. I started to freak out – lol. I gotta admit – I was pretty nervous walking down the aisle. But after the long walk – it was a relief because everyone was behind me – I didn’t have to look at them. HAHAHA.

Overall – it was a really meaningful day. Something that I wouldn’t forget. I’m blessed and grateful to find someone that loves and cares about me unconditionally. That plans our future together – that supports me from every decision I make. Almost three years being together – we’ve never gotten in any serious fight, never bitching or yelling at each other, never disrespected each other, and the list goes on. I’m proud to say – I’ve found someone that will walk the rest of this life long roads with me.

Dream house?

Wouldn’t it be nice to own a mansion?? I wish – these probably cost a couple millions by now. Were not getting a house anytime soon because we are comfortable living with the in-laws right now. I feel like we are living in our own flat because we have a whole floor all to ourselves and the only time that we see the in-laws is at dinner. Weird huh? We live in the same house too.

Never mind – but eventually one day we have to move out when we have a kid. It’ll be hard to pick a house now because of the house market. It’s way too expensive owning a house around where we live now. We do have other considerations and that’s up north. Which can be pretty inconvenient for us to meet up with relatives/friends/groceries and etc. It’ll be hard picking out a house because Hubby & I am super picky when it comes down to a house. He expects steel garages – while I expect marble floors. Looks like we’ll never own a home!

Bachelorette Party Night

LOL. This is like the only legit pictures I can post up that night! It was one of the craziest night I ever had in my whole life. These girls were trying to get me smashed! I don’t even remember how many shots, bottles, or cups of alcohol I consumed that day. But at the end of the night – it was a good night. I do remember who got me smashed! ;) They’ll get it back at their bachelorette! WAKAKAKAKA.

Girls night out!

It was an awesome event! An event that most of my girls came out and celebrated with me out of their busy schedules. I was thrilled that the restaurant gave me a private room – I was looking for a small banquet room – but that was hard to find. I gave up on that idea – than when I made reservation with this restaurant – they happily gave us a room all for us. It was awesome – nice to see everyone again.
