Jobs & Careers

A lot of my friends are either graduating from college or university this year and is already all worried about finding a job. I would be worried too especially if I have four years of OSAP debt to pay back to the government. It’s always competitive finding a job in Toronto because there’s way too much people and not enough jobs openings. When thing I know is that Veterinary Services Jobs are the easiest to get when you’re in that field. But again – finding a job is all about connection and luck – if you have both of those – you don’t need to worry.

So for you all out there that’s gruadting or already graduated – good luck in job finding!

Halloween 2011 Celebration

<

I decided to set up a mini event to celebrate Halloween. Halloween isn’t a big thing to me but I thought it would be fun just to invite some close friends over and have a dress up and hotpot party. I actually love planning events like this – gets me busy right? Since I’m free most of the time – I have some stuff to think about and plan.

Everyone all dressed up and had a blast that night. We ended the night with a scary Korean movie. I was dead tired by the end of the day – good thing I didn’t have to clean up the mess because I prepped everything! I should start planning Halloween parties every year and especially having a kid in the family – makes it more fun for him. How did you all celebrated Halloween?

Birthday Plans

It’s mid-September already – time is flying by like a blink of an eye. I’m already thinking of my birthday plans and this time – I’m really out of ideas. I think I’ll do separate dinners again because it’s really hard communicating with a large group of people. Probably simple dinners would be nice. One thing I request from my hubby is – I want 23 candles on my birthday cake. Looks like he’ll need to get a huge cake for me eh? hehehe

Another year has gone by and I’ll be twenty three this year. I feel like being twenty-two – I’ve accomplished a lot in life just this year. A lot of happy events and wonderful friendships. I hope turning twenty-three would be the same too. Bring a new member in the family is a joy and this year – I pray and wish for a healthy baby.

Opening up your own business?

Last week I met up with a friend for dinner with my other half. It was a long time friend that we haven’t seen for such a long time now. He graduated from university with a degree but couldn’t find a job – so he told us that he was planning to open up a restaurant. From what I see – a lot of restaurants are closing down around this town or a change of ownership. Business is hard nowadays and he would most likely need some restaurant loans in order to build his business. It might be risky but if he makes it – he’ll be making the money. Sometimes in life – you gotta take some risks right? Best of luck to him.

The Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church

Two days before the wedding – we had our rehearsal at the church. That hit me a bit because I wasn’t as organized with the program as I would like it to be. I started freaking out when things were missing and I am  new to the Catholic religion and don’t really know the steps of the ceremony. But after the rehearsal – everything was so much clearer to me. Phew~

I wasn’t expecting a large amount of people showing up to church that day because not everyone was Catholic. So I had quite a calm morning till I peak into the window and saw the HUGE amount of people that I didn’t expect. I started to freak out – lol. I gotta admit – I was pretty nervous walking down the aisle. But after the long walk – it was a relief because everyone was behind me – I didn’t have to look at them. HAHAHA.

Overall – it was a really meaningful day. Something that I wouldn’t forget. I’m blessed and grateful to find someone that loves and cares about me unconditionally. That plans our future together – that supports me from every decision I make. Almost three years being together – we’ve never gotten in any serious fight, never bitching or yelling at each other, never disrespected each other, and the list goes on. I’m proud to say – I’ve found someone that will walk the rest of this life long roads with me.

Bride & Bridesmaid shoes

We finally got our wedding pictures back a week ago – I was too sick to blog about it. Since I have the energy now to type – gotta blog about it right? It was quite difficult for the girls to pick out the perfect pair of shoes. I didn’t have anything to do with it but to pay for it. As long as they match – I’m good. They look good eh? Matches with the theme. I like things that match.

Dream house?

Wouldn’t it be nice to own a mansion?? I wish – these probably cost a couple millions by now. Were not getting a house anytime soon because we are comfortable living with the in-laws right now. I feel like we are living in our own flat because we have a whole floor all to ourselves and the only time that we see the in-laws is at dinner. Weird huh? We live in the same house too.

Never mind – but eventually one day we have to move out when we have a kid. It’ll be hard to pick a house now because of the house market. It’s way too expensive owning a house around where we live now. We do have other considerations and that’s up north. Which can be pretty inconvenient for us to meet up with relatives/friends/groceries and etc. It’ll be hard picking out a house because Hubby & I am super picky when it comes down to a house. He expects steel garages – while I expect marble floors. Looks like we’ll never own a home!

Fruitastic Night Market Events

What an experience for my hubby. I gotta say the things I experienced in my life is way different than what my hubby experienced. He never really experienced labour work in his whole life. I thought volunteering at Fruitastic would give him the best experience ever. It’s hard work – tough work, but not everyone gets to sit in the office and have air conditioning on in a hot day like him. I wanted him to experience what is hard work.

Guess what he said to me at the end of the day? lol – He said “no wonder I work in the office…” It was funny hearing it from him. I had fun helping out and bumping into a lot of people. It was quite busy! Don’t think I’ll be volunteering for another event like this. There’s a lot of hard work involved and for me – I just can’t stand the sun and heat! I need the air conditioning!

August already?

August already? I was talking to a friend on BBM just yesterday and told her how time flies by so quick. She disagree with me because her summer was quite long. Well – I wasn’t that busy with the wedding preparation stuff this year. I was more busy on planning different events with friends and seeing different groups of people this year.

If you follow my blog – you would know that Winter is a season to hibernate for me. So all I do is probably go to the mall and pick up a couple things and have small dinners. That’s about what I do in the winter. But when Spring/Summer hits – those are the seasons I start planning events because it’s warm enough. I’m weird huh?

But yes – August already! I have a lot planned out during this month before everyone gets back to school/work mode. Every weekend there’s a special event or just hanging out here and there. Although – I’m married and all that. My other half doesn’t give me restrictions on what to do or not to do. Our relationship is based on trust and that’s how it works. I’m happy to be where I am and have people there supporting us! Life is just wonderful at this point.

Do you have a busy August?

Milne Park for Canada’s Day

This is another belated post. Canada day was such a relaxing day at home and just running errands with the other half. There wasn’t much to do because all the malls were closed. So I ended up baking some cupcakes for the potluck dinner. People started to arrive around 6-7ish. We had to have dinner a bit early because we were all heading out to Milne Park @ Highway7 & McCowan Road for fireworks.

Simple homemade/take out food – just a simple dinner.

The fireworks was actually pretty awesome and long. I have to say its better than the Scarborough Milliken Park one. I was amazed with what they have – this is hubby & my third time watching fireworks together – you can tell he’s not a huge fan of it eh? I don’t really care about it – in fact – I feel like it’s just burning money. With 15 minutes of fireworks – that’s probably like 6 digits there – can afford a beautiful home. But that’s just my opinion. Burning fireworks is just like burning money – agree? disagree?
